BigRed and the Resonators is led by singer/songwriter Chris Boyd, a multinstrumentalist who has been playing music since 1963,and was raised by pro musicians in New Jersey and Westerly,R.I. Boyd worked on the road for many years from Colorado to Vermont, was a member of Atlantic recording artists Ted Bird and Whazoo in the 80’s,earned a classical music degree, and formed the Resonators in 1998.

John Grillo plays drums and percussion and is a hugely talented guy from West Kingston,R.I,who has been part of the RI club circuit since the late 70’s. Jeff Ceasrine is a multinstrumentalist originally from Brewster,N.Y. who plays piano, organ, bass and vocals in the band and also plays guitar and drums!…He is a veteran of the NY club circuit.

Together, the Resonators cover a lot of musical ground, from early 60’s R&R influences,to Motown,R&B,blues, country and funk. Boyd writes in a variety of styles due to the influence AM radio had on him as a kid growing up in Jersey/R.I. in the 60’s….It isn’t unusual for the Resonators to go from swinging the blues to a heartfelt ballad and then onto a rocking slide guitar/organ tinged slice of Americana….We like diversity and it’s all part of our musical vocabulary .

The band recently completed our 2nd CD entitled “Move On”,13 original compositions and a remake of Alan Jackson’s Midnight in Montgomery. We’re very excited about it…So far 2009 has been terrific for the band and the response to our new music has been overwhelming.…This year promises to be very exciting…….Thank you all for your friendship and support .
